u guys know sexuality gender and the way u feel attraction can change right. u know you can put labels on and off right. nothing is solid swim a little if you like etc

normalize saying “it was a phase, mom”. in a way that doesn’t take away that it was real.

this should go without saying but this is also especially true if you identified as ace and then suddenly you’re head over heels in sexy romantic love. or if you were bi and then are suddenly feeling hetero feelings only. there’s nothing shameful about that. maybe it was real, maybe you we’re figuring things out - that’s for you to know only.

America’s puritanical, homophobic, anti-vaccination, anti-sex education, “morality” mentality is killing people.

This information could literally save someone’s life. Please share.

I’m sorry, the age limit has been raised to 45? Fam! Go get your HPV vaccine! Even if you think you can’t afford it because of co-pays or kick of insurance, you need to. Out of pocket for a jab is WAY CHEAPER than the cancer it prevents. And your county health department will usually have less expensive vaccines or vouchers for/access to less expensive vaccinations.

Please go! Your auntie loves you and does not want you to die from a PREVENTABLE cancer!

Concept: a woman is holding hands with a robot, and the woman is wearing a shirt that says “I like my women like I like my keyboards” on the front and “mechanical” on the back, over an exploded view of a cherry mx brown keyswitch.

The robot’s shirt says “flesh lover” in the old recaptcha distorted text style. The back has “select all the squares with the cutest girl” and a 3x3 montage of photos of the woman currently holding her right hand.

obligatory Gee, I sure wish robots were shoving their lesbianism down MY throat!

Now that this post has 50k, I want to say some things:

1. The cropped screenshot is from a friend of mine. Their comment is a joke, I promise you.

2. I love how many people are like “this 100% except for cherry mx browns what’s wrong with you that’s a terrible keyswitch”. The mechanical keyboard fandom is A Thing, certainly.

3. The key to having a post unexpectedly blow up is apparently having it be one everyone can reblog and tag #blorbo from my shows, because MY GOD there are a lot of those (and OCs, of course)

3. I still haven’t made either of these shirts.

companies really have got to be okay with stagnant profits. what is wrong with earning the same amount every year? why does it always have to be more? it’s not sustainable. there are only so many people on the planet you can profit from 😭

This is the thing. If there are only so many people they can profit from, and they demand to see profits go up every year, they will have to steal more out of the pockets of the little people each year, either by paying less, or by charging more. And that is the problem. Because that is exactly what is happening. And the rich get richer. And the poor are getting so poor that it is coming to a crisis point. They seem to have forgotten what happens at the crisis point though: people who have nothing to lose, will rise up and fight.

Cancer: a malignant tumor of potentially unlimited growth that expands locally by invasion and systemically (Merriam Webster)

See also: Capitalism

But also, “increasing profits every quarter” is a relatively recent thing. It’s new since the 1980s! In the 1980s, Reagan heavily promoted the economic theories connected with the Chicago school of economics. (“Reaganomics” is basically the Chicago school ideas dumbed down to fit in soundbites.) The Chicago school is, among other things, responsible for such wonders as “all regulation in the marketplace is always bad” “monopoly is good because it’s efficient” and “trickle-down economics.” When those ideas became mainstream, and were adopted wholeheartedly by Wall Street, they spawned the idea that the most important measure of a company was its stock increasing in value. Not how much business it was doing, not how well its customers liked and valued it, not how stable it was for the long-term. Is its stock increasing is the only measure of value.

Prior to that point, a business–even large corporations!–were valued more on how reliable they are. If I invest in this business, will it still be there five, ten, fifteen, twenty years from now? Businesses were good if they were profitable and stable. Increasing profits was wonderful! But they understood that that is not infinitely sustainable, and that if you wanted to maximize long-term profits for individual investors and for the economy as a whole, you did not want flash-in-the-pan trendiness, and you didn’t want a business cannibalizing itself, you wanted a business that was stable and took good care of its customers so they’d keep coming back.

I was a cheerleader at university, this was in the UK so not serious at all, but we did go and compete at Nationals which were being held in Bournemouth, a fair distance from our uni in London. One of the girls was like “omg you can stay at my house! My parents live like 30 minutes away.” so all 25 of us got on the coach with a blanket and pillow and clothes, expecting to like, stay at a house.

Her house in the New Forest. They had a pool and hot tub, a pool house, and I think 4 or 5 bedrooms and 2 reception rooms. I say “I think” because we weren’t actually allowed to stay in the house. Our coach and 2 male members stayed in the pool house, which had a very small room, plus a bathroom which all of us were to share. The rest of us had to sleep in a big tent gazebo thing in the garden. In May in England. When none of us were prepared for camping. It was about 10°c in the night, not comfortable at all.

I very briefly saw the inside of the house when I asked her mother if there was another bathroom because we were running late and i needed to put my contact lenses in, and she shooed me into a cupboard under the stairs. The living room I caught a glimpse of had enough space for all of us to sleep there.

The next day when we got back from the competition, we were given a BBQ dinner! Which consisted of 1 chicken leg and 1 potato each.

For the privilege of staying at her house, we all had to give Nadine £5.

Every time I see a post like this, I think of that time, freezing my ass off, in a mansion garden.

Hey! I’m gonna assume you guys like using Tumblr correct? What about AO3? TikTok? Or any other platform that fandom spaces thrive? Then you need to give a fuck about the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA).

KOSA is a act currently being talked about in congress that is labeled as a act that prevents minors from seeing 18+ content. It being labeled as that seems okay and good, yes, but that’s not what this bill is about.

KOSA, if put in place, will make so the attorney general of each state gets to pick which platforms will be banned in their state. And this doesn’t been censorship of minors, this means censorship of everyone of ALL AGES.

“My attorney general wouldn’t ban this sites.” Yes, they might not. But don’t think about yourself right now. MILLIONS of people will be without spaces to escape too. Millions of people will be without access to websites that allows them to talk to people. Millions of queer people wouldn’t be allowed on to places they were originally welcomed.

“Okay? But they’re only trying to ban nsfw content?” And what do all republications see as nsfw? Queer people. Especially trans people.

KOSA is just another bill that will allow nation wide bans on topics such as sex, gender, sexuality, and more. This act does nothing more except erase queer people from online spaces, and further pushes the anti-trans beliefs (and genocide) circling our country right now.

Y’all need to give a shit about this bill like you should still be giving a shit about the RESTRICT ACT (which still hasn’t been turned down yet btw).

This act opens the door from any site such of tumblr and quotev to be banned, to YouTube if your AG doesn’t like it for ANY reason. And don’t forget, VPN’s can only do so much, and the government already wants to ban those.

What can you do? CALL YOUR FUCKING CONGRESS REPS. EMAIL THEM. I don’t give a shit, all I care about is this bill that doesn’t speak for the people getting blocked and not being put in place. Bills like this further push our nations descent into facism. And if there’s a way to prevent that, we better fucking do it.

KOSA

my controversial opinion is that real progress in the north won’t be achieved until the world decides to consider the native irish people a white indigenous population like the sámi

the decision to call the fighting here “catholic vs protestant” is literally to make it seem like a religious disagreement rather than a fight between the native people of the land and their colonizing oppressors

the complete lack of infrastructure in primarily irish areas as well as the total suppression of the irish language should genuinely be considered a human rights abuse internationally. why isn’t it?
